Directed Batch Growing Self-Organizing Map (DBGSOM)

The DBGSOM package is a MATLAB toolbox for developing a new type of self organizing map with a dynamic structure. The directed batch growing self-organizing map (DBGSOM) possesses effective capability to generate feature maps and visualizing high-dimensional data without pre-determining their size by offering a flexible structure. DBGSOM enables the ability to learn the nonlinear manifolds in high dimensional feature space by useing a growing strategy based on the accumulative error around the candidate boundary neuron and helps to direct the network growth in proper directions. A demo file for analysis of the Iris dataset is also included in the package.
